After seven successful years at the old location at 114 Grossmannstrasse, BTG Hamburg will be moving to new premises in Peutestrasse at the end of the year.
A new freight forwarding facility with approximately 5,000 m² warehouse space and an office and staff facility area of 850m² is being built for BTG Internationale Spedition GmbH.
In future and in addition to the further expansion of the existing forwarding business, the international air and sea freight, as well as national traffic, BTG Hamburg will be able to offer its clients advanced high-quality logistics services in this modern and top-equipped forwarding facility. Although the BTG Group has already been working successfully in the field of logistics for a large customer base in various other locations for many years, up to now BTG Hamburg was unable to become independently active for its clients in this field of business.
The ambitious expansion of our Hamburg branch underlines the consequent efforts of the management to expand and strengthen the logistics sector within the BTG Group.
With the new location in Hamburg, BTG is also meeting the wishes of many clients for high-quality storage and logistics space close to the port and with excellent transport links. The proximity to the A1 motorway also guarantees quick access routes for BTG’s existing north-south traffic. Through an integrated customs warehouse, BTG Hamburg can also offer its clients a viable alternative to the free-port privileges, which will cease to exist as of 2013 and thus provide a tax-free storage for their products.
Already during the planning of the new forwarding facility great attention was paid to energy efficiency and the construction of the building was carried out in compliance with the highest environmental criteria, with the aim of achieving the “Silver Certificate” of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).
A certification through the DGNB is already widely spread within the industry, however in logistics real estate BTG Hamburg will belong to one of the few service providers on the German market, who can present their clients with such an environmental certificate.
Among other things this is achieved through the high heat-insulating outer wall structure of the warehouse, passive construction of the office building with triple glazing, heating and cooling of the offices through concrete core cooling with a geothermal energy heating system and lighting control in both the warehouse and office areas through automatic daylight controls.
