Container transports by rail between Europe and China - the alternative to air and sea freight!
Since the middle of 2015 BTG has been offering its customers a new service in freight transport to and from China. In addition to air and sea freight, we can offer our customers in China and Europe complete transport solutions by rail.
In September 2015 BTG - together with our longstanding Chinese partner SINOTRANS - handled its first own complete freight train with 45 containers from Lanzhou to Hamburg and back. On 21st September 2015, the first train from Hamburg was seen off with a formal ceremony, which was attended by the Mayor of Lanzhou and senior members of the executive management of SINOTRANS.
Further train services are being offered from Hamburg and Duisburg to Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongqing and Zhengzhou, with weekly departures and a transit time of approximately 15 days for each direction.
Due to the comparatively low transport costs and the relatively short transport times, the rail transport service represents an interesting alternative to air and sea freight.
